OverviewPrecision steel shafts from Bosch Rexroth can be fully configured and ordered online
At Bosch Rexroth, all standard precision steel shafts can now be configured online. A full range of shaft support rails is also integrated into the configurator. With the new range of products available via the online configurator, engineers and technicians can select, adapt and order their shafts before importing them into their CAD system. Comprehensive new options for end and radial machining double the range of configurable shafts to a total of over 9,000 variants. The guided selection process takes just a few minutes and a plausibility check helps to avoid errors when entering information.
The online configurator now provides six new options for machining the shaft ends. These include end holes, journal with connection journal and internal thread or internal thread with preset fitting bore. Depending on the type of shaft, the precision steel shafts for linear bushings which can be configured online are available in lengths ranging from 15 to 6,850 mm and in diameters ranging from 3 to 110 mm.
In addition to individually configurable full and hollow shafts, the online configurator now features all variants with shaft support rails too. These are designed to protect the shaft against bending when it is transporting high loads over long distances. The options for the radial machining of shaft middle sections in particular have been expanded. Not only vertical internal threads but also through-hole threads and drill holes with or without countersinking are available.
The associated linear bushings can be used for a wide range of applications. They have a very long service life and offer excellent running speed, smooth running and rigidity. The standard design can also be used at temperatures of up to 200 °C. Rexroth linear bushings are now available in countless different variants: Closed or open, corrosion-resistant, with wiper seals or longitudinal seals, with or without a flange or as a complete linear set.
In order to allow customers to choose the right round guides or linear bushings quickly and easily, Bosch Rexroth also provides the Linear Motion Designer (LMD) design tool. The calculation program guides users intuitively through the design process and can pass on the results to the online configurator if required. The fully digital tool chain thus covers the complete engineering process for precision steel shafts through to ordering – including pricing, automatically generating the production order and providing the CAD data. The order confirmation also includes a clear material number which can be used to reorder the particular shaft without having to reconfigure it. The user also receives the associated 2D and 3D CAD data straight away.
The online configurator is available in eight languages.
