Famed Italian motorcycle company, Ducati, opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand – their first motorbike assembly plant in Asia. It’s an ultra-modern plant capable of producing 10,000 motorcycles every year. To ensure that every single motorcycle produced here delivers the exceptional riding experience, they have decided to further improve their production process.

Overcoming Legacy Software System Challenges in Motorcycle Assembly
The challenges were fundamental. The legacy software system only had basic functionalities and suffered from a lack of customization capabilities, so it struggled to adapt to customer requests and faced support challenges during downtime and the customization phase.
So, we set about helping them improve their operation with a digitalization and software solution designed to ensure every single motorcycle produced delivers the exceptional performance, design, and riding experience the brand is known for.
With such a complex manufacturing environment we knew it was vital to make the manufacturing process as efficient and flexible as possible. That meant moving Ducati from manual operations to cost-effective digitalized operations and software systems that would improve production and streamline workflow.
To do this we designed a tailor-made software solution using the digital Operator Guidance System, with the NEXO tightening tool. Dedicated local Bosch engineering support worked closely with Ducati to customize the software exactly how they needed it to work.
