Dr Steffen Haack, CEO/CTO, Bosch Rexroth

Dr. Steffen Haack assumed the role of President of the Executive Board at Bosch Rexroth AG in August 2022, overseeing strategy, business development, engineering, and corporate communications. He also serves as Chief Technology Officer since January 2021, focusing on the electrification of all drive technologies for connected solutions in industrial and mobile applications.

Dr Haack joined the Bosch Group in 1996 and has worked in various roles, including President of the Business Unit Industrial Hydraulics from 2017 to 2021, President of the Executive Board at Bosch Solar Energy AG from 2012 to 2014 and was responsible for Sales in the Business Unit Industrial Applications at Bosch Rexroth AG from 2010 to 2012.

Dr Haack holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt and earned a PhD in fluid technology from the University of Erfurt in 1991.

Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Steffen Haack chairs the Executive Board of the Fluid Power Association of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and sits on the Advisory Board of the German Mechanical Engineering Summit.

Anders Garnell, Sales Director, Bosch Rexroth Sweden

Anders Garnell is a seasoned Sales Director who has, since 2017, been making a significant impact in his role at Bosch Rexroth Sweden. On top of overseeing the Swedish market, Anders also focuses on bolstering the organization’s indirect channels and advancing the factory automation business throughout Europe.

Before stepping into his current role, Anders had a lifelong career in sales, and began his career at Bosch Rexroth in 2004. His expertise lies in fostering collaborative relationships between business units and sales teams, working closely with customers and partners to drive mutual success.

Anders is not only focused on driving sales and growing his team, he is also very passionate about sustainability. He has initiated sustainability initiatives in Sweden, reflecting his genuine commitment to environmental and social responsibility. His enthusiasm for sustainability extends beyond his professional life as he is deeply interested in the role that industries can play in advancing sustainability initiatives on a broader scale.

In addition to his role at Bosch Rexroth, Anders is the Vice President of the Swedish Fluid Motion Association since its inception in 2018.

Outside of the office, Anders enjoys life in Stockholm with his two children and takes great pleasure in his hobbies. He is an avid sailor, ice hockey player, and a passionate skier. Furthermore, he recently welcomed a grandchild into his family, bringing great joy to his personal life.

Gustav Stenbeck is an entrepreneur and a business angel, an incurable tech optimist and an evangelist for the business/sustainability combo. HFor the past 20 years, Gustav has found himself working in the area where business and sustainability intersect.

As an entrepreneur and investor, Gustav gets involved in early stages in startups and helps them grow. Today, there are a dozen companies in his investment portfolio. Each places sustainability at the core of their operations, and they therefore deliver sustainability value when they fulfill their business goals.

As a keynote speaker, Gustav gives talks about the business/sustainability combo. On how the businesses of tomorrow are changing the way they make money and how this change is affecting the firms of today. He has been a Speaker of The Year Nominee (2020) and he has been on Sweden's most popular speakers list for the past five years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023).

Lars Andren is a Technical Manager with over 25 years of experience at Bosch Rexroth. He began his career at the Mellansel plant, where he was responsible for business development in various industries worldwide. As a member of several country units' boards, Lars gained valuable exposure to different cultures and perspectives. He later led the development of the world's largest hydraulic motor, the Hägglunds CBM.

Lars' career has evolved through various international roles, spanning from sales to service. Today, he is based in Liljeholmen, Stockholm, where he manages the industrial hydraulic technical sales department. With expertise across the entire value chain, Lars always places the customer's perspective at the forefront of his work. His current focus is on natural sustainability and the new era of modern hydraulics, with key considerations including standardization, energy efficiency, and uptime.

Now residing in the heart of Stockholm, he takes pleasure in the vibrant life and surroundings of Södermalm. A retired soccer player, Lars rarely misses a game with Hammarby, one of Sweden's top teams. As his two children have recently left home for their studies, he and his wife Anna are adjusting to their empty nest.

Peter Ardemalm has devoted his entire professional career to technical sales and project sales, holding leadership positions in several international companies. The team's successes have primarily come from their strong entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork.

In his free time, Peter is a dedicated family man, living outside Helsingborg with his wife and three daughters. He maintains a healthy lifestyle by prioritizing regular exercise, including gym workouts and running. Peter has always engaged in various adventure activities during his leisure time. In the past, he has competed in martial arts, dynamic shooting, and spent a few years skydiving. Nowadays, his primary adventure sport is downhill skiing whenever the opportunity arises.

In his free time, Jonathan is passionate about sailing and enjoys other outdoor activities when the wind and weather conditions are not suitable for sailing.

Anders Gunnare will discuss and present how an industrial company with a long history can seize opportunities to enhance its digitalization efforts. This journey should align with the existing profitable business, where digitalization can boost profitability, internal efficiency, deliver greater customer value, and maintain a strong connection and interaction with the company's value chain. The challenge has been and continues to be achieving a functional, profitable company while proposing changes.

Anders believes that business needs should determine the requirements for streamlining this process; IT can be a part of this streamlining, but it's not a given. This statement reflects his perspective on business, technology, and IT. It's important to note that the primary challenges lie not in technology but in human elements, organizational structures, and corporate culture within the enterprise.

Before joining RI.SE, Anders held various roles in IT, both in the private and public sectors. Currently, Anders is part of RI.SE's Industrial Systems division, specifically in the Sustainable Industry unit, located at RI.SE's office in Luleå.

Stella Gustafsson has extensive experience in helping manufacturing companies enhance their innovation capabilities, increase organizational resilience, build the capacity to withstand future challenges, drive renewal, and promote growth. Stella has worked on developing and implementing corporate strategies, processes, and methods for systematic innovation, as well as leading digitalization and business transformation projects. Over the past few years, Stella has had a strong focus on product sustainability and data-driven solutions to accelerate the green transition.

Before joining RI.SE, Stella spent 13 years working in the process and construction industries. Currently, Stella is a part of RI.SE's Industrial Systems division, specifically in the Sustainable Industry unit, located at RI.SE's office in central Västerås.

With an impressive 23-year tenure at Bosch Rexroth, Henrik Jarl serves as a seasoned Technology Manager. Henrik embarked on his journey with Rexroth as a test/support engineer for industrial hydraulics/electronics, marking the beginning of a diverse and enriching career.

His early years were dedicated to industrial hydraulics, where Henrik excelled and eventually transitioned to the mobile hydraulics sector as a Product Manager for electronics. Embracing new challenges, he further progressed to the role of Technical Manager in mobile hydraulics, where his expertise remained deeply rooted in the technical intricacies of hydraulics and electronics.

Currently holding the position of Technology Manager within Mobile Hydraulics, Henrik oversees a broad spectrum of technological domains, spanning from traditional hydraulics to cutting-edge fields like electrification and IoT.

Tor began his career with Bosch Rexroth in 2001 and has since held various managerial roles in the company across Europe and the US. His tenure includes serving as the Regional Vice President for the Heavy Industries Segment in the Southwest US from 2015 to 2018, followed by his position as Managing Director for Bosch Rexroth in Norway until 2023. This role also encompassed Regional Sponsor responsibilities for Service and Digitalization within Northern Europe. Concurrently, Tor served as Chairman of the Board of Robert Bosch Norway.

Tor holds a Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Ålesund in Norway.

Roland Larsson is a researcher and teacher at Luleå University of Technology (LTU). His research field is primarily tribology, i.e. the science and technology of interacting surfaces in relative motion. In tribology, Roland's focus is on lubrication processes, surfaces and lubricants.

Roland is the Chair Professor of the Machine Elements group, i.e. the tribology research group at LTU. We are a relatively large group with 7 professors, 1 associate professors, 5 researchers/teachers, 4 postdocs, and 30 PhD students (Jul 2023). Our focus is on tribological processes in machine elements, metal forming, hip joints, skis, and much more.

Since 2020, Roland is running LTU’s large project on Circular economy. It is named Creaternity and in this project we are developing ways to obtain circular economy, often by the use of digitalisation. Creaternity is a movement for sustainability.

The business unit is also known as Hägglunds, a brand of Bosch Rexroth.

In recent years, Karl has made a name as being a driver and spokesperson for the company's sustainability work. Not least, he works to integrate sustainability throughout the business chain, from product development and production to relationships with customers. In addition, he is a member of Bosch Rexroth's Sustainability Board, which involves driving sustainability work globally within the Group.

Karl's career began after his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the Institute of Technology, Linköping University.

Today, Karl lives in Stockholm with his wife Maria and has two adult children. When he commutes to the head office of Hägglunds in the High Coast of Sweden, he naturally takes the train. Whenever there is a spare moment, Karl chooses to ski in the Swedish mountains, or to swing his golf clubs.

After having lived almost her entire life in Malmö, Liz now resides in a house in the small town of Asmundtorp outside Landskrona with her partner and dog. Her two adult sons, whom she often spends time with, still live in Malmö.
